|I personally recommend this program because it is so easy to use. It is not a Diet, but rather a Healthy Eating Program for the rest of your life. Dr. Roy Vartabedian, a Doctor of Public Health and former Director of the Cooper Clinic Wellness Programs in Dallas, Texas developed this program. He took 3,600 foods and graded each on 26 different things, protein, carbohydrates, fat, etc.,(18 positives and 8 negatives) giving each a point value called a Nutripoint. A Positive approach to good eating rather than a Negative one. The higher the point value the better the food (or drink). The object is simple; you have 3600 choices from 6 different food groups. Select what you like and see if you total a minimum of 100 Nutripoints each day from the 6 food groups combined. You don't have to count calories, read labels, figure out grams of fat, etc., it has all been done for you and is put into one number. Easy!|
New Nutripoints Book (book only)
The newly revised 5th Edition of Nutripoints (©Oct, 2005) is 468 pages (7" x 8.5" paperback) with 600 new foods analyzed including updates in the areas of cereals, yogurts, juices and fruit drinks, fast foods, Atkins and South Beach diet foods, snack and health bars, sports bars, sports drinks, drinks at Starbucks, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, vegetarian foods, soymilks, new margarines, frozen entrees, soups, Subway sandwiches, and Whole Foods store brands. New sections on organic foods, sweeteners, juicing, and updates on sections on supplements, shopping lists, question and answers on Nutripoints. All Juice Plus+® foods are rated and referenced in the book Index.
